For Immediate Release 1/14/05

In response to President’s Bush call for Americans to contribute to the relief effort caused by the devastating tsunami of December 26, 2004, musicians from throughout East Texas will be giving a benefit concert on Saturday, February 5, 2005 at the Nacogdoches Expo Center.

There is no admission cost, but donations will be accepted. Raffle tickets will be on sale for merchandise and gift certificates donated by East Texas businesses.

All of the musicians are donating their music and time and Sound Techs of Lufkin is donating the sound system for the concert. Donations from East Texas attorneys are paying for the Expo Center lease and related expenses.

Once all the contributions are collected, the East Texas Boys & Girls Club will send the proceeds, together with the other contributions the East Texas Boys & Girls Clubs are collecting, to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America - The Boys & Girls Clubs of America will then match the contributions dollar for dollar, and will then present a check to President Bush for the tsunami victims.

The entertainment will be a mixture of Christian rock, country & western, bluegrass, blues, and Rock & Roll. At this time the following music groups have committed to providing their talents: Cutting Edge, Crossroads, Assembled for God, Curb Check and special guest appearance by Herbert Midgley, Social Bliss, Stretching Madness, The Brazos River Rats, Sweet Freedom, Easy Money, The Stone Wall Rockers Featuring The Oz Men Brothers, and Emage.
